BOARD VACANCY

Notice is hereby given that the Little Falls Board of Education is interested in filling one (1) vacancy created by the resignation of one of its board members. In order to be considered, candidates must meet the following qualifications that he/she is:
• A citizen of the United States of America
• At least eighteen (18) years of age to qualify for office
• Able to read and write
• A resident of the municipality from which he/she is to be elected/appointed for at least one year
• Not directly/indirectly interested in any contract with or claim against the Board
• Registered to vote in the District
• Not disqualified as a voter pursuant to R.S. 19:4-1
• Not a member of the governing body of Little Falls Township

A letter of interest from local residents is to be sent to the Business Administrator/Board Secretary, School No. 3, 560 Main Street, Little Falls, N.J. 07424, not later than May 23, 2013 and interviews to be held at the Board Meeting on May 30, 2013. LITTLE FALLS BOARD OF EDUCATION
SCHOOL BOARD PETITIONS AVAILABLE


Nominating petitions for election to the Little Falls Board of Education are available in the Passaic County Election Office, 401 Grand Street, Room #130, Paterson, NJ 07505, during the regular business hours of 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Petitions can be picked up at the Passaic County Election Office or obtained online at passaiccountynj.org


Three (3) seats are available for election of three (3) year terms
One (1) seat is available for election of one (1) year unexpired term

Nominating petitions must be filed with the Passaic County Election Office no later than 4:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 4, 2013. The election is scheduled for Tuesday, November 5, 2013.

Candidates filing a nominating petition for board membership must meet the following qualifications that he/she is:

A citizen of the United States of America
At least eighteen (18) years of age to qualify for office
Able to read and write
A resident of the municipality from which he/she is to be elected for at least one
year preceding the date of the election
Not directly/indirectly interested in any contract with or claim against the Board
A registered voter in the district
Not disqualified as a voter pursuant to N.J.S.A. 19:4-1
Not hold office as mayor or member of the municipal governing body

Homeless/Displaced Students : If anyone knows of a homeless or displaced student that is now residing in the district, please have them contact Mr. William T. Petrick, Superintendent of Schools and Mr. Jim Schoeneich, Homeless Liaison, at (973) 256-1034. The homeless liaison and school district staff will assist homeless/displaced students with student-related services

13-14 Kindergarten Registration is Underway

All children who will be five years old on or before September 30, 2013 must be registered in order to begin school in September.

Please note: Any child who will not have reached his/her fifth birthday on or before September 30, 2013 will not be able to attend kindergarten for the 2013-2014 school year.

In order to complete your child’s registration, you will need the following:
Your child’s birth certificate
Written health and immunization record
Proof of a physical examination
Documentation of residence by rent receipt and lease, mortgage statement or tax bill and two of the following: PSE&G bill, pay stub, telephone bill, driver’s license.


Remember that early registration helps us better plan for reasonable class sizes in the fall. In addition children will not be assigned to a class in September until all records are complete. Registration takes place at School No 2 on Long Hill Road. Children need not be present for registration purposes. For more information please call School No 2 at (973) 256- 1386.
