The Hive Before and After Care Program
Welcome to The Hive Before and After Care Program!
The Hive, the Little Falls Township Public School District Before and After Care Program, is excited to welcome both returning and new families. The program provides a safe, engaging, and enjoyable environment for students before the start of the school day and/or after dismissal.
The Hive is available at both School No. 2 and School No. 3 for students in Kindergarten through Grade 4. Before care will begin at 7:30 a.m. at School 2 and at 7:10 a.m. at School 3. After care will begin upon dismissal at each school and run until 6:00 p.m. at both schools.
Important: The Hive will follow the Little Falls School District Calendar and will not be open when schools are closed.
Due to space and staff availability, the after care enrollment at both schools is limited. An active waiting list will begin after capacity is reached.
New this year: We are happy to announce we are piloting the After Care Program on Single Session Days starting in September! *After Care Tuition Rates paid monthly or paid in full include the following (11) Single Session Days (from dismissal until 5 p.m.) - 9/22, 10/23, 10/30, 11/25, 12/23, 1/18, 1/27, 1/28, 2/12, 3/25, & 5/28.

Tuition Due Dates:
- Paid in full options must be paid prior to the start of the program on 9/8/2026 in order to receive the discount.
- Monthly options for September enrollment must be paid no later than 8/15/2026 for enrollment to be complete.
- Monthly payments thereafter are due by the 10th of the previous month. For example, October's payment will be due September 10th.
In order for your enrollment to be completed and your child(ren)'s placement in the program secured, the following 2 items must be submitted:
- Register/Login with CommunityPass to complete and submit the 26-27 The Hive Registration & Parent Contract. If you already have a CommunityPass account with Little Falls Recreation or another Community, DO NOT CREATE A NEW ACCOUNT. Please use your existing CommunityPass login and password to login and register for programs offered by the Little Falls School District.
- Submit payment. Payments may be made via cash, check payable to: Little Falls Board of Education, or online via CommunityPass. The Board of Education Office is located in School No. 1 at 32 Stevens Avenue.
Students will not be enrolled and able to attend The Hive Before/After Care Program until BOTH steps are completed.
Tuition and Payment Options:
Before Care Tuition - Monthly payment - $90.00
Before Care Tuition - Paid in full discount - $825.00 - If paid in full by the start of the program
*After Care Tuition - Monthly payment - $335.00 - September through May
After Care Tuition - June only payment - $225.00
*After Care Tuition - Paid in full discount - $2,750.00 - If paid in full by the start of the program - Please note the sibling discount does not apply to the paid in full discount
*After Care Tuition - Sibling discount monthly payment - $335.00 for first child, $305.00 for each sibling - September through May
Before & After Care Drop In Option:
The Hive offers a Drop In Option for both before and after care for students who are not currently enrolled in either program. If you do not need to enroll your child(ren) in The Hive Program, but will need to utilize our Drop In Option from time to time, you will still need to register/login with CommunityPass to purchase our “Occasional Use Coupons” throughout the year. The Before Care Drop In Fee is $15 per day per child. The After Care Drop In Fee is $30 per day per child. Please note: You must notify The Hive via phone (973) 256-7371 or email amarchesani@lfschools.org on the days you intend to utilize the program.
Due to staffing constraints, the Drop In Option will be limited on Single Session Days. Advance notice is required if you intend to use the program on a Single Session Day.
