Home Instruction
Home Instruction
Home Instruction is available for students whose illness or medical condition results in an absence of more than ten (10) consecutive school days. A written statement from the student's physician, including the anticipated duration of the absence, must accompany all requests for Home Instruction services.
Instruction is provided by a certified teacher in collaboration with the student's classroom teacher to ensure continuity of learning. Services are typically provided for a minimum of five (5) hours per week, and up to ten (10) hours per week for eligible students with disabilities, generally scheduled over three days each week.
Parents/guardians who believe their child may require Home Instruction should contact Elba Alves Castrovinci, Director of Special Services, at 973-812-9512 ext. 3405 to discuss eligibility and begin the referral process.
